With the recent sneak peak release of the Peter Pan's Flight collection of the Minnie Main Attraction Collection, we are almost halfway through this lovable monthly collection featuring some of your favorite Disney attractions. So far, we have absolutely LOVED what we've seen! The only problem... getting the pieces can be harder than trying to score a last minute fast pass for Flight of Passage.
The first two months of the collection release, I used a personal shopper that lives near the Parks. She does pre-orders and goes in with a list of how many of each item to get. I pay a little over retail, but I haven't had to worry about getting the items I wanted (the pins). This, obviously, got a little tricky with the close of the Parks and Disney Stores. I had already paid for my March pin set, and I have faith that she will be able to get those for me when she is able to get back to the Parks. We read on a post from a Disney Store cast member that the March and April Main Attraction merchandise had already been shipped to the Parks and Disney retail stores, so there *should* be plenty of inventory once those open up again.
Because much of the inventory was already sent out, it felt like a mad dash to get the items when they released online. We all missed the March release because our alarms didn't go off, but we were ready to go for April. Unfortunately, it seems Disney wasn't quite as ready as the rest of us. We each had multiple devices on the site trying to score a pin set right at the release time. It took about an hour and a half before we got one of our transactions to go through and another thirty minutes before we had all managed to grab a pin set. Brandi and I also opted to get the coffee mugs because we were already so invested, we might as well try to get something else!
One thing we have been really disappointed to see is people buying up the items and then selling them with an extremely high mark up. It's really sad to see people taking advantage of others. It doesn't feel very Disney-like to us. We don't want to judge because we don't know other people's situations, but it just makes us a little sad. All this to say, I am a panic buyer and have made it my mission to collect all the pins, so I have fallen victim to those high priced items just to make sure I secure my set.
Because of my panic buying and our luck at scoring pins when they were actually released, we have two extra pin sets, and we have decided to give away one set of March pins and one set of April pins! We hope to be able to bring a little magic to someone who desperately wanted the pins but was not able to get through on the site and can't/won't pay the high mark ups on resell sites. After all, what are Fairy Blogmothers for?!
**Update- the winners have been selected for the two pin sets. Congratulations to perezdaniela991 and laura.rubii! Thank you to everyone who commented! We really enjoy getting to bring a little magic to people's lives, and we hope to do more giveaways in the future!
